Check out the video we made from last years Festival of Speed

The Goodwood Festival of Speed is something I look forward to months in advance. Along with most petrol heads, it’s pretty much my perfect day. Mooching around the latest car releases, experiencing some uncomprehendingly expensive metal from previous years and getting to see most of them spanking their way up the tricky hill climb course. One day is no longer enough for me it has to be two at least, the first day is spent looking at all the cool static stuff. Followed by the second day exclusively for drinking in the joy, that last year, was James Turner driving a Paul Smith inspired 1965 2-litre Porsche 911 mostly sideways up the hill and some other awesome stuff too.

This year the theme is ‘Speed Kings – Motorsport’s Record Breakers’. This celebrates the amazing achievements and individuals that push themselves to the limits extracting lap times and making up places in a race like no one else. Hopefully this will mean some records will be broken on the hill climb itself. Strangely, its over two decades since the outright record was last broken. With Nick Heidfeld’s run of 41.6 seconds in a McLaren MP4/13 remaining unbeaten. I fancy Porsche’s 919 Evo as the new record holder.

Anyway it’ll be a mega few days and I’ll be spending as much time as possible absorbing in the event!

If you fancy it check out some of my favourite Goodwood hill climbs bellow.
